The case of Alize Cornet a French tennis player who was another victim of sexism in the tennis
industry who was penalized for briefly taking off her shirt. The US Open organizers expressed
“regret” for the way she was treated at the match
Cornet realized that she was wearing her shirt in the wrong way during the 10 minutes break
between the second and third set against Sweeden tennis player Johanna Larson. Cornet was
running late from the court when she was surprised when they handed her a code violation by
the chair umpire Christian Rask. This caused a huge backlash on the social media when Judy
Murray, a former tennis player and the mother of the top English player Andy questioned
the double standards where at work of men and women. “Alize Cornet came back to court after
10 minute heat break, Had her fresh shirt on back to front. Changed at back of court. Got a code
violation. Unsportsmanlike conduct … But the men can change shirts on court.”, was tweeted
by the mother of the Andy Murray.
This again shows the issue with the media and their representation of female athletes .
The issues are slowly dissapearing from our world but it would take time until those
issue would be solved

I for one am proud to say am a feminist therefore love this choice of topic.its really sad that females are not always pictured as more than the physical appearance even if they are great athletes.most media doesn’t cover women sports and if they do they focus on scandals or magazine with sports women in bikini than in action on the field depending on career.it doesn’t help that the public is always ready to criticize them instead of support.so how do you feel when you see this and what can be done about it?

When I see this kinda of scandals, I feel mad because I think that women should be equal to men. Women should be respected as men are. Women should have the same coverage as men. The media should also focus on women’s achievements rather than on their looks and so on. We need to make the media understand that women are capable to be as successful as the men players or athletes, to make the media understand that women are as strong as men as well.
